Birds of the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill

Compiled by members of the BirdNote team

This is BirdNote.

[Waves lapping lightly throughout]

We share the concern of all who listen to BirdNote for the well-being of the birds that are affected and are yet to be affected by the oil spill in the Gulf. Birds such as:
The Brown Pelican [splash of Brown Pelicans]...
Great Blue Heron [karonk karonk karonk]...
Snowy Plover [soft peeping calls]...
Sandwich Tern [calls of a flock of terns] …
Seaside Sparrow [song] …
American Oystercatcher [call]
We invite you to work with us to create a future more in harmony with the needs of birds and wildlife. Fortunately, there are many avenues for action. For information about the birds — and more — come to our website, birdnote.org.
Willet [call]…
Black-crowned Night-Heron [call] …
White Ibis [and] Mottled Duck [calls]
Clapper Rail …
American White Pelican…
Roseate Spoonbill …
Ruddy Turnstone …
Western Sandpiper …
Least Sandpiper …
Semipalmated Sandpiper …
Black-bellied Plover [call] …
We’re all in this together.  For BirdNote, I’m Mary McCann.
