Dennis Paulson

Science Advisor and Writer
Dennis Paulson received a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Miami, and taught college and adult-education courses about natural history for 35 years. He recently retired after 15 years as the Director of the Slater Museum of Natural History at the University of Puget Sound. Dennis has written or coauthored over 75 scientific papers and seven books, including A Guide to Bird Finding in Washington, Shorebirds of the Pacific Northwest, and Shorebirds of North America: The Photographic Guide. One of his primary goals as a biologist has been to blend the science of biology with the study and appreciation of nature.
