Dr. Shailee Shah is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Rochester, studying social evolution and population genetics in birds that form cooperative social groups. Shailee obtained B.A. in 2014 from Cornell University, where she worked closely with scientists at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and her Ph.D. in 2022 from Columbia University. Over the course of her scientific career, Shailee has studied a diverse array of birds in locations ranging from Maine and Florida to India and Kenya. Shailee also serves on the Diversity & Inclusion committee of the American Ornithological Society (AOS) and has previously co-chaired the Student Affairs Committee of AOS and served on the Leadership Team of the 500 Women Scientists NYC Pod.
