Cooper's Hawk — Nestling Tended in Nest

© Eric Howe

This Cooper's Hawk nest is in a honey locust tree in a front yard in Racine, WI, and was videographed from an adjacent yard. The male Cooper's Hawk is an adult, but the female tending the nest is an immature (first-year) bird. At the time of filming (22 June 2012), the four young were approximately two weeks old based on the finding of an empty half of an egg shell under the nest tree on 07 June. Published to YouTube on June 24, 2012.
