Silvia Sánchez Ramírez is a biologist and science journalist with a focus on environmental and climate storytelling. She is a producer at Kizaya Studios, and has led science communication projects for institutions such as the Center for Complexity Sciences the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate Change and Mexico City’s Secretariat of Education Science Technology and Innovation. Her reporting on Hurricane Otis’s aftermath in Acapulco After Otis: After the Storm Calm Doesn’t Always Follow published by Climate Tracker received an honorable mention in the 2024 Special Award for Audiovisual Science Journalism. Silvia is a graduate of UNAM’s Science Journalism Program and an active member of the Mexican Network of Science Journalists.
