"Birds in Art"

Walk in to an art gallery and chances are good that you'll see a piece or two inspired by birds.

We at BirdNote have wanted to dedicate a page on our website that features the beauty and diversity of art inspired by birds. So when we heard from Woodson Art Museum about their annual "Birds in Art" exhibition, we were confident that our readers would be equally impressed by the range of talented international artists who use a variety of media to depict birds.

This is the thirty-seventh anniversary of the annual invitational exhibit, where 125 artists were selected from over six hundred submissions. Keep an eye out for the exhibition as it travels to:

  • The Wildlife Experience, Parker, CO (December 1, 2012 through February 18, 2013)
  • Newington-Cropsey Foundation, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY (March 9 through May 5, 2013)
  • Frank H. McClung Museum, University of Tennessee, Knoxville TN (May 25 through August 18, 2013)
  • Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport TX (September 14 through November 16, 2013)

Learn more about the exhibit at Woodson Art Museum, in Wausau, WI. In the meantime, we will let these pieces of art speak for themselves.
